Title: Cook County Director: David Pomes Starring: Anson Mount, Xander Berkeley, Ryan Donowho, Polly Cole, Makenna Fitzsimmons On the small screen, AMC’s “Breaking Bad” has shined a light on the production of methamphetamine, and wrung much drama from the heightened stakes of a seemingly regular family man’s descent into moral and criminal contravention. Writer-director David Pomes’ effectively grimy “Cook County” takes a look at the ravaging effects of the same drug from a user’s point-of-view, detailing the familial chaos surrounding three generations of addicts living in rural East Texas. A gritty, pungent drama with some nicely attuned performances, the film is well worth seeking out for fans of off-the-beaten-path independent…

All caught up on Breaking Bad? No? First off, how dare you? But, more importantly, watch out because this piece is packed with spoilers! Earlier this evening Breaking Bad baddie, Giancarlo Esposito, showed off how unlike Gus Fring he really is, enjoying a nice night out with his daughter at the premiere of The Adventures of Tintin. Naturally, after Gus’ shocking demise, the obligatory question had to be asked – is that really the end of Gus? While Esposito artfully dodged the question, he does note that “no one dies on Breaking Bad” and that Gus will “definitely be back” perhaps “to put a final stamp on the series’ ending.”…

We’ve been so entrenched in the volatile situation between Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) recently on Breaking Bad, I’ve almost forgotten about Walt’s cancer. Even though our main man got a stellar report back in season two, he’s still checking in with the doctor on a regular basis. In this sneak peek of episode 408, “Hermanos,” not only do we get a look at what Walt goes through before sitting down for his consultation, but a sense of where his head is at through a conversation with a cancer patient that’s far newer to the process. Part of me thinks this moment could allude to the return of…

Walt and Skyler (Bryan Cranston and Anna Gunn) may have managed to get their car wash up and running, but now they’ve got a new problem; Walt makes way more working for Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) than any car wash makes, perhaps even in nine months. Then again, we’re 39 episodes into AMC’s Breaking Bad; has Walter White failed us yet? He may have hit some seriously dangerous bumps in the road along the way, but Walt is still alive and breathing. However, this situation puts the ball in Skyler’s court. The question is, is she going to have what it takes when forced to turn to the dark and illegal…

Emmy Award-winning drama ‘Breaking Bad’ has been renewed for a fifth and final episode by AMC, Deadline is reporting. The cable network has confirmed that the season will include 16 episodes, and production will begin in early 2012. However, AMC President Charlie Collier has yet to announce when the season will air, and if all 16 episodes will run together, or be split into two mini-seasons. ‘Breaking Bad’s fourth and current season debuted on Sunday, July 18, to a series high. Household ratings are up 30 percent over the third season, and 45 percent more adults in the 18-34 age group are presently watching the series. Collier has said that…

Dying to find out where Mike (Jonathan Banks) is taking Jesse (Aaron Paul)? You’ll have to wait until Sunday, August 14th at 10/9c for that kind of information, but for now, courtesy of a Breaking Bad sneak peek, you can get a sense of how Walt (Bryan Cranston) is getting along without his right hand man. Sure, Jesse’s been wasting his time partying and ravaging his once beautiful home, but around the lab, he’s an asset – particularly when it comes to operating the fork lift. Apparently no one told Victor’s (Jeremiah Bitsui) replacement, Tyrus (Ray Campbell), that picking up the slack in the lab doesn’t keep you safe from…

Thought your were going to be eased back into things for season four of Breaking Bad? Think again. We’re two episodes in and things are as tense as ever. If you’re not completely caught up, beware, because spoilers lie ahead. Walter and Jesse (Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul) have seemingly survived the predicament we left them in at the conclusion of season three, but now they’re still walking on eggshells as Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) proved to be far more ruthless than they ever imagined. Now, they’ve got no choice but to keep their guards up and start planning for the worst, for Walt this means buying a gun and for…

What better way to ring in the new season of Breaking Bad than by rocking a Breaking Bad t-shirt? At the end of season three, high school science teacher turned meth cooker, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), took out two of his boss’ goons, compelling Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) to move towards eliminating Walt and naming Gale (David Costabile) his replacement. However, Walt’s a smart guy and manages to get one step ahead of Gus by having his accomplice, Jesse (Aaron Paul), head to Gale’s apartment and kill him, which would make Walt the best cooker in town, leaving Gus no choice but to spare his life. Season three came to a…

We’re just two days away from finding out whether or not Jesse (Aaron Paul) pulls the trigger and blows Walt’s (Bryan Cranston) replacement, Gale (David Costabile), away. Well, actually we know he pulls the trigger as season three of Breaking Bad comes to a crashing halt with a gunshot and quick cut to black. While you’ve got no choice but to wait until Sunday, July 17th at 10/9c to find out what happens between the boys, we can offer you a taste of what’s to come for Walt’s wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn), and her sister, Marie (Betsy Brandt). We’ve got a brief clip from the very first episode of the…
