The winners of the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced during the live broadcast on NBC on January 15, 2012, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. While there were several surprises during the ceremony, including controversial host Ricky Gervais returning for third year in a row, some winners were completely expected. The other day, we reported on the cast and crew of “The Raven” celebrating author Edgar Allan Poe’s life and the anniversary of his death. Some new pictures are out from the celebration, which involve wrapped cars, mannequins and trash cans with “RIP EAP” printed on them. They’re a little jarring, to be sure, which goes with the theme of celebrating the macabre author’s life. Also, below the post is the trailer which premiered Friday. Relativity Media is aiming to pay respect to author Edgar Allan Poe–the director of “The Raven” James McTeigue and co-star Luke Evans will participate in a ceremony at the classic author’s gravesite at the Westminster Hall and Burying Ground in Baltimore Maryland at 2 p.m. EST Friday, October 7, the 162nd anniversary of Poe’s death. Dublin-born and based, Brendan Gleeson is, like many of the finest character actors, many things to many people. To some he is forevermore Professor “Mad-Eye” Moody from the “Harry Potter” films. Others will recall his standout turn opposite Mel Gibson in “Braveheart”, or the wickedly underappreciated “In Bruges”, opposite a headstrong Colin Farrell. Others still might think he looks familiar from Robert Zemeckis’ motion-capture “Beowulf”. Most recently, Gleeson won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his portrayal of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in HBO’s “Into the Storm”. Michael Fassbender has been cast in Brendan Gleeson’s upcoming directorial debut ‘At-Swim-Two-Birds,’ Screen Daily is reporting. There’s no word yet who the ‘X-Men: First Class’ actor will be playing, but he joins already announced actors Gabriel Byrne, Colin Farrell, Cillian Murphy and Gleeson’s son, Domhnall. ‘At-Swim-Two-Birds,’ which is based on Flann O’Brien’s acclaimed 1939 novel of the same name, is set to begin filming in Spring 2012. Besides directing, Gleeson will also appear as the uncle in the film adaptation. Like the book, the movie will follow a teenage student who infuses his creative writing with people from his own life. His characters eventually rebel and conspire to kill him….

The new trailer and movie stills for the Sony Pictures’ “The Guard” have been released. The action-comedy stars Don Cheadle (“Hotel Rwanda”, “Oceans Thirteen”) and Brendan Gleeson (“Braveheart”, “28 Days Later”). The film will be released in theaters nationwide July 29.
