Joe Belcastro's 20 not-so critical thoughts on film in 2010

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

2010 is over. No more. Done. Finito. Some are more than happy to kiss that year goodbye, while others wish it would have never ended. In the realm of movies, 2010 looked great in terms of box office receipts. However, even with the second highest grossing domestic box office of all-time ($10.5 billion) in the books, let’s just say the quality of the product put out, is far from what the numbers suggest in terms of stellar entertainment all year around. Rob Corddry On Board To Carve Some Butter

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

The film already boasts big names including Jennifer Garner and Kate Hudson, but Corddry’s comedic prowess is a welcomed addition. Just as notable as the cast is the script. Jason Micallef’s piece found itself in the #3 position on the 2008 Black List. It involves an Iowa woman (Garner) hoping to take the butter carving title that once belonged to her husband. When a young orphan girl (Yara…

Hot Tub Time Machine Steve Pink Interview

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

I’ve done a lot of interviews, but never once has the interviewee beat me to the first question. Not only did Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink throw a question my way before I could ask him one, but he asked me something totally predictable and simplistic, yet a question that caught me completely off guard. He wanted to know what I thought about his movie. When you’re talking about a project that involves four guys time traveling back to the 80s via hot tub, you’d think there isn’t much to discuss except the pure instantly of the situation. But, no, Hot Tub Time Machine has much more to…
