Jamie Foxx (“Valentine’s Day”, “Ray”) has signed onto play Lynch in Lionsgate’s big-screen adaptation of the video game adaptation “Kane & Lynch: Dead Men”. Screenwriter Kyle Ward revealed this as well as his involvement in the project on his Twitter account. The film is being directed by Simon Crane, with Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter producing alongside Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black, and the Willis Brothers Co. Despite rumors, Heat Vision is reporting that Nicolas Cage won’t be starring as a villain in “The Green Hornet” from Columbia Pictures and director Michel Gondry , having walked away from the production that’s already started filming in Los Angeles after negotiations fell through. No footage of Cage had been shot yet. In a Variety article about “I Am Love”, the new Tilda Swinton, film director Luca Guadagnino mentions that First Sun, his production company, is actually moving forward on a remake of the classic 1977 horror film “Suspriria” by director Dario Argento. Shooting is scheduled to start in 2010, with David Gordon Green directing. Though not confirmed, Natalie Portman is rumored to play the lead role in the film, which is about a new student to a ballet school in Europe. Hollywood Snitch is reporting that Edward James Olmos (“Battlestar Galactica”) will be joining the cast of Michel Gondry’s “The Green Hornet” alongside Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz. It is unknown what role Olmos will play in the film, an adaptation of the comic and radio show character who was created in 1936. Britt Reid, a newspaper publisher by day, becomes the crimefighter known as the Green Hornet by night, with his chauffeur Kato also fighting by his side as his partner. Jay Chou, a Taiwanese actor and musician, has been confirmed by Columbia to have taken on the role of Kato in the upcoming “The Green Hornet” alongside Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Nicolas Cage. Variety is reporting that Columbia Pictures is in talks with Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz for the two to join the cast of “The Green Hornet” as a gangster villain and a potential love interest, respectively. First the news that Columbia Pictures will be moving the release date to July 9th, now MTV is reporting that actor Stephen Chow has entirely dropped out of the big-screen adaptation of “The Green Hornet”. Columbia Pictures has moved the release date of Michel Gondry’s comic book adaptation of “The Green Hornet” back two weeks, from June 25th, 2010 to July 9th, 2010. It was moved to make room for the studio’s all-star cast comedy “Grown Ups”, which was moved from March 12th, to June 25th 2010. Seth Rogen is attached to star in the production, which he co-wrote.
