Seattle goth metal rockers Aiden will be releasing their sixth, yes sixth LP “Some Kind Of Hate” the follow-up to “Disguises” which was just released only a few months ago. The band went directly back into the studio to record and write even more new material after trekking on a national tour in support of “Disguises”. Happy Sunday! Or should I say, happy Harry Potter week? After seven days of madness courtesy of the grand finale of the eight-film franchise, the web world is drenched in Potter news, discussion pieces, lists, photos and more. It’s a wonder there was room for any non-HP news. However, we did get quite a bit of information on some other highly anticipated upcoming projects, particularly in the image department. Jessica Biel has signed to play Melina in director Len Wiseman’s remake of the 1990 sci-fi action movie ‘Total Recall,’ Collider is reporting. Kate Beckinsale, Wiseman’s wife and star of his directorial debut, ‘Underworld,’ has been cast as ‘Total Recall’s other female lead, Lori. Just hours after Biel and Beckinsale’s casting was confirmed, The Hollywood Reporter announced fellow ‘Underworld’ alum Billy Nighy was chosen to portray resistance leader Quatto. The fantasy/epic graphic novel series “DevaShard” has been picked up by Vanquish Motion Pictures for a film adaptation after a bidding war erupted over the Hong Kong-based publisher Fluid Comics title. Vanquish’s Jay Douglas and Nav Gupta will be producing and co-writing the feature alongside Heather Kenealy. “Underworld” franchise creator wrote the screen treatment. “DevaShard,” which premiered at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con, is inspired by Asian mythology and crafted was created by Zen, Keith Burns and Johnny Tam. Kevin Grevioux, the co-creative brains behind the “Underworld” franchise, will be making his directorial debut on the adaptation of his graphic novel, “The Pale Horsemen,” which he will also be writing. Larry Meistrich’s Nehst Studios has picked up to produce. “The Pale Horsemen,” out on Grevioux’s DarkStorm Studios imprint, is described as a supernatural-tinted thriller that follows around a motley crew of assassins, forced to work together to find out who killed their old mentor. This is the latest of several projects from Grevioux.
