The rights to hit Japanese anime series “Full Metal Panic!” have been acquired by Mandalay Pictures to develop a big-screen version of the series.

Often abbreviated “FMP”, the series Shoji Gatoh’s series about is a teenage anti-terrorist commando from the group Mithril named Sousuke Sagara. He is given the mission to protect a popular high-school girl with mystical powers that give her almost superhuman knowledge of advanced sciences that could either help or destroy mankind. The series and novel and manga it was based on mixes action, science fiction, and slapstick comedy.

Zack Efron, also rumored to be attached to Warner Bros’ “Johnny Quest” adaptation, is rumored to be considered for the FMP adaptation.
