Joss Whedon (Goners, Firefly), co-creator and director of the hit Web musical “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”, recently told a group of reporters that a sequel to the online phenomenon could take any form from another web series to a full-length feature film.

“Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” is a musical film, initially produced exclusively for Internet distribution. It tells the story of Dr. Horrible, the aspiring supervillain alter ego of a nerd named Billy, his battles to be taken seriously as a villain and against his nemesis, the popular Captain Hammer, and Penny, their mutual love interest. It starred Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, Felicia Day as Penny, and Nathan Fillion as the bullying hero Captain Hammer.

The movie was written by writer/director Joss Whedon, his brothers Zack and Jed Whedon, and Jed’s fiancee, Maurissa Tancharoen.
