Hugh Jackman and his Seed Productions partner John Palermo are in development to work on a sequel to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”.

The Seed partners have alreadybegun planning the sequel according to a report by Variety.com, which will spin off of the post-credits scene of the film that takes place in Japan. They indicate that they will be sticking with the Japanese and samurai-oriented history of the Wolverine character, an important part of the comic character’s backstory and his comic series. A writer has yet to be hired. Seed will produce.

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, which detailed the early years and mysterious connection to Weapon X that the mutant hero Wolverine had, topped the domestic box office over the weekend despite failure fears stemming from bootlegging, with its opening weekend raking in $87,000,000, topping the first two original “X-Men” films.
