According to a report by Variety, Lloyd Levin, the producer of the hit DC/Vertigo adaptation of Alan Moore’s “Watchmen,” has acquired the screen rights to “Echo”, a comic book series by the acclaimed Terry Moore. Moore is known for his critically-acclaimed self-published indie comic “Strangers In Paradise,” which ran from 1993 to 2007. besides last year’s “Watchmen”, Levin has also produced both “Hellboy” films, with producer Larry Gordon.

“Echo”, which debuted in 2008, is about photographer Julie Martin, whose personal life is in shambles until the day she is accidentally doused in a type of liquid metal from a military experiment gone wrong. She discovers that the living metal is a weapon that has turned her into an unstoppable threat with power akin to a nuclear bomb, a threat that the military wants back at all costs.
