Columbia Pictures and director David Fincher have announced a core cast for “The Social Network,” the Aaron Sorkin-scripted film about the formation of Facebook, the social networking site.

Jesse Eisenberg will play Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, with Justin Timberlake playing Napster co-founder and Facebook’s founding president Sean Parker, and Andrew Garfield will play Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg over money issues.

The film will focus on the creation and evolution of the social networking website, created in 2004 at Harvard, and how the success of the project affected the lives of the founders.

Production will begin next month in Boston and Los Angeles. Scott Rudin, Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, and Cean Chaffin will be producing “The Social Network”. Kevin Spacey is on board as the executive producer.

  1. That’s a decent cast, will be interesting to see them in this movie. I think the most difficult casting will be for the parts of the 6ft 5 Twins, also the part of Divya Narendra should be played by either Kal Penn or Danny Ashok.

  2. Oh and to ‘Tiny’ above, DA is a theatre actor, if you don’t follow theatre I doubt you would know him. He was in the tour of History Boys I think? Very good actor, but that doesn’t mean he’s right for this. Not sure who can play that part as I can’t think of any actors that look like Divya. Having said that, none of the core cast look like their real life counterparts. Riz Ahmed is probably the best Asian actor around at the moment, but might be too old for that part. I am curious to know who else is in the cast as well.

  3. Who cares! This movie will suck balls anyway! Even David Fincher can’t make this good enough to see. Aaron Sorkin’s script is probably the worst job he’s done on any project.
