A set video found on Stras TV shows that a character who wasn’t expected to make a comeback in “Sherlock Holmes 2” is actually in the film, at least for a little while. If you want to be surprised when you see the film in theaters, click away from this story! Don’t read any further!

Now that it’s just us, here’s who is going to be in the sequel to “Sherlock Holmes”. Rachel McAdams has appeared in the set video in full Irene Adler regalia. After the filming of the first “Sherlock Holmes” film, McAdams said she didn’t know if she’d have a role in the sequel. And logic would state that Noomi Rapace, who plays the mysterious character Sim, will have a lot more screen time than Irene Adler. But in any case, it would seem that there is room enough in this film for two leading ladies.

The storyline for the sequel follows the consulting detective (Robert Downey, Jr.) as he and his friend and colleague Dr. John Watson (Jude Law) chase down Holmes’s most hated rival, Professor Moriarty. The film, directed by Guy Ritchie and also starring Stephen Fry as Holmes’s brother Mycroft and Jared Harris as Moriarty, will be scheduled to hit theaters December 16, 2011.
