According to CinemaBlend, Justin Timberlake is one of the names in contention to play Larry in the Farrelly brothers’ film adaptation of “The Three Stooges”.

Timberlake, along with Woody Harrelson and Larry David are up for the role; Hank Azaria and Johnny Knoxville are up for Moe, and Will Sasso and a bunch of unknown actors are up for Curly.

Firstly, this is a random bunch of people competing for these roles. Secondly, it’s an even more random set of people who are competing for the same role. Azaria and Knoxville are at two completely opposite ends of the spectrum. Triply so for Timberlake, Harrelson and David. Let’s not even bring up the other casting rumors that have come and gone; according to CinemaBlend, Benicio Del Toro, Andy Samberg, Sean Penn, Jim Carrey (the only casting rumor which makes a lot of sense) have been up for the roles of the three tv characters.

The catch to all of the casting rumors is this: the Farrelly brothers have given themselves a deadline of three weeks to figure out who will play Larry, Curly, and Moe. This blogger is not a “Three Stooges” fan in the first place, so I don’t know if any of these names that have been thrown out actually sound like real Stooge material (except for Carrey, who has proven time and again, dating back from his “In Living Color” days, that he can do slapstick craziness), so I’ll leave it to you to be the judge.
