ABC has cast new roles in several of its upcoming drama pilots, www.deadline.com is reporting. Bruce Greenwood has signed to appear in DreamWorks TV and ABC Studios’ horror drama ‘The River,’ which will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. The show, which was created by ‘Paranormal Activity’s director Oren Peli, follows Lincoln Cole, played by Joe Anderson, as he “reluctantly abandons his medical studies and follows in his father’s footsteps.” Greenwood plays Lincoln’s father, a television explorer, who goes missing in the Amazon.

Miriam Shor has joined another ABC drama pilot, titled ‘Good Christian Bitches.’ The prime-time soap opera follows Amanda, played by Leslie Bibb, a former high school ‘mean girl’ who returns home after getting divorced. Shor will play one of the girls hurt by Amanda in high school who is determined to ruin her life.

Jeff Perry, Darby Stanchfield and Liza Weil have all joined the cast of Shonda Rhimes’ ‘Damage Control.’ The ensemble show will based on the career of Judy Smith, a legendary crisis management consultant. Stanchfield will portray an investigator working for consultant Olivia, played by Kerry Washington. Perry will portray an aide to the U.S. President, while Weil will play the suspected love interest of the president.
