‘Lie to Me’ actor Brendan Hines is heading to the hit ABC comedy-drama series ‘Castle’ to play Alex Conrad, a new mystery writer, www.tvguide.com is reporting. In Hines’ episode, which is titled ‘The Dead Pool’ and will air in April, follows Alex’s success after Castle, played by Nathan Fillion, wrote a positive review for his first novel. Castle then invites Alex to the precinct to help guide him on his next book.

However, once he arrives, Alex is much more interested in what Beckett, portrayed by Stana Katic, has to say about being a detective than Castle’s advice. While Castle investigates a swimmer’s murder with Beckett, he becomes upset that his new protege is more interested in his muse and love interest than him. The veteran author is also mad that Beckett willingly shares private information with Alex.

The swimmer’s coach will be played by Justin Bruening of NBC’s short-lived ‘Knight Rider’ reboot. Josie Loren of ABC Family’s ‘Make It or Break It’ will portray the swimmer’s girlfriend, and the two will both become suspects in the case.

  1. As a huge Lie to Me fan, I'm really happy that Hines has this opportunity to show his talent. Hopefully, Lie to Me gets a fourth season from Fox and we can continue to enjoy his work.
