Remember a while ago when Shockya reported Will Ferrell was developing what was then simply called his “Spanish language comedy”? Well, the trailer for said film, “Casa de mi Padre”, is now online.

Dare I say the film looks awesome? The trailer, found below, looks awesome, at any rate. But it does seem like the film has all of the elements together for it be a great film. It even looks like it’s got a bit of Robert Rodriguez-style directing in it! If this turns out to be really good, this could be one of the best Will Ferrell films ever. Here’s hoping I’m not proven wrong!

The plot of the film follow the story of Armando Alvarez (Ferrell), who has fallen on tough times what with the failings of father’s ranch. Armando’s business-savvy brother Raul (Diego Luna) and his fiancée Sonia (Genesis Rodriguez) show up and as Armando falls for Sonia and Raul’s shady dealings go south, the group finds themselves in a drug war with Onza (Gael Garcia Bernal), the most powerful drug lord in the area.

What do you think about the trailer? Are you cautiously optimistic or are you already on board the “Casa de mi Padre” train? Sound off with your comments, concerns, or praise for the trailer below in the comments section.
