According to CinemaBlend via Variety, Jake Johnson has been cast in the film adaptation of “21 Jump Street”. Johnson has acted in “No Strings Attached” alongside Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher as well as “Get Him To the Greek” with Jonah Hill and Russell Brand. He has also played roles in television shows such as “FlashForward” and “Lie to Me”.

Although no word has been given as to who Johnson will be playing, he has been cast as a lead character.

The film will chronicle a team of baby-faced cops who act as undercover high school students in order to squash crime. The script has been written by Jonah Hill and will also star Hill as well as Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, DeRay David, and Rob Riggle.

In one interview, Tatum stated how he and the team behind the film are trying to get Jonny Depp to sign on to a cameo in the film, seeing how it was this show that really gave him his start as an actor and heartthrob.

So what do you think about this news? Who do you think Johnson will play? If you’re old enough, do you still have your “Tiger Beat” magazine featuring “21 Jump Street”-era Depp? Sound off below.
