According to The Hollywood Reporter via Entertainment Weekly, “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez has reportedly teamed up with “Idol” exec Simon Fuller and his XIX Entertainment to create her own singing talent show that she and her husband, singer Marc Anthony, will use to find talent in Latin America.

Lopez has been developing the show, tentatively being titled “Que Viva”, for some time now and is still looking for a network to call home. It’s also unclear as to whether Lopez will remain on “Idol”, seeing how her contract is only for one year. When approached about her future on the show, Lopez said, “I don’t know if I will do another season. I’m taking it day by day at the moment, and we’ll see what happens.” However, according to “Entertainment Weekly”, it’s very possible Lopez would stay on “Idol”, due to “Idol”‘s performance this year.

Overall, “Que Viva” could be a great show, especially since “American Idol” has yet to have a Latino/a winner. This show could provide some balance to the singing-reality-show-winner landscape.

  1. I would watch a Latino Singing contest if they sang in english as I don’t understand anything but english. I’m sorry I can’t understand them. Their music sounds beautiful.
