Apparently, the people over the upcoming “Wonder Woman” show have heard some of what the blogosphere wants. According to Slash Film and io9, the show is going through rewrites in order to include a more decisive (and decisively violent) Wonder Woman.

The revisions, which were being written while the pilot was being shot–will have Diana Prince (played by Adrianne Palicki) lifting bad guys by the throats as well as there being plenty of kicks, chest-grabbing, and eye gouging.

Also, Diana is once again an Amazon! In a flashback scene that was written prior to the shooting of the pilot, we see Diana save Steve Trevor from his burning plane when he crash lands on Paradise Island, even though Artemis, one of the other Amazons, says it’s too dangerous for Diana to save Steve.

At the very least, she’s not doing what she was doing in the original script, which included gorging on ice cream to combat depression, excessive crying, lying in the fetal position, etc. It would seem that someone’s trying to give us the Wonder Woman we know and love. We’ll see if they succeed when the show airs.

So, Wonder Woman fans, what do you think about this news? Sound off below.

  1. The Show is gonna bomb along side shows like the New Bionic Woman, the New Knight Rider and the likes of them. They’re putting in too much “reality” formula rather than what made shows very successful by using the 70s and 80s formula.

Watch the ratings drop like a rock and it gets canceled within a few episodes.

  2. super heroes don’t cry, even in front or with our bff. Whats so Wonder about that. WE do cry. Just in private. I hope the premier of this new take doesn”t make me cry.
