According to Movieline, the death of terrorist Osama bin Laden has now rocked the Hollywood industry, primarily news concerning films covering the death of bin Laden.

Movieline is reporting that Kathryn Bigelow is directing a follow-up film to “The Hurt Locker” called “Kill Bin Laden”, which could now be the first film to deal with the events that led up to the May 1 killing, although Movieline’s sister site Deadline has confirmed the film will deal primarily with an unsuccessful attempt to kill the terrorist and Al Qaeda leader who hid between the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Deadline is also reporting that details are sketchy at best, but Megan Ellison, daughter of Oracle chief Larry Ellison, is ready to fund the project. Bigelow is also said to be asking Joel Edgerton to consider the lead role.

Another project in the works about bin Laden is based on Gary Bernsten’s book “Jawbreaker”. The film had previously been stalled, but due to the recent events, interest in the film should spike tremendously. The film was also following a botched attempt to kill bin Laden after 9/11.

Overall, Hollywood is going to start tripping over themselves in order to use this news event for films fodder.
