Lionsgate casting news of “The Hunger Games” is blazing like wildfire! There is so much anticipation for this adaptation of Susanne Collins’ widely popular young adult series. Maybe because this summer will conclude the “Harry Potter” movie series and this fall will start the conclusion of the “Twilight” saga. Hollywood is itching to tap into the tween audience, yet again, with a new series.

It is reported that Wes Bentley will join the cast of Hollywood’s young, up and coming stars. He will be joining the Oscar Nominated, Jennifer Lawrence (“Winter’s Bone”), who will play the lead role of Katniss Everdeen, Liam Hemsworth (“Thor” Chris Hemsworth’s brother), Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks and newcomer Willow Shields. Bentley will play the role of Seneca Crane, the “Head Gamekeeper” of the Hunger Games, which involve a group of teenagers battling to the death in a gladiator-like competition for their Government.

Wes Bentley is most recognized for this role as Ricky in the Oscar Winning, “American Beauty”. Most recently he was in last summer’s box office bomb, “Johan Hex” and “Ghost Rider” and a string of obscure films like “The Four Feathers” and “The Claim”.
