Tommy Lee Jones is joining the cast of “Great Hope Spring”. He will joining an all-star cast which will feature Meryl Streep and Steve Carell. There is no release date for this movie but it looks like it will be sometime in 2012. Great Hope Spring was written by Vanessa Taylor (episodes of “Alias” and “Everwood”) and will be directed by David Frankel (“Marley & Me” and “The Devil Wears Prada).

The screenplay was on the prestigious Black List in Hollywood. If you’re not familiar with the Black List, it’s OK, most people aren’t. It’s not a bad thing despite the name, it’s called a list of wonderful screenplays that have yet to be made or produced. The most recent screenplay to have also been on the Black List was Jodie Foster’s “The Beaver”. Which was written by Kyle Killen (FOX’s “Lone Star”).

Many years of marriage have left Maeve (Streep) wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a famed relationship guru (Carell) in the town of Great Hope Springs, she must persuade her sceptical husband (Jones) to get on a plane for an intense week of marriage and sex therapy. Getting there was hard enough…now shedding their bedroom hang ups, learning some new moves and rediscovering their youthful spark is when the real adventure begins.

Los Angeles, CA (May 19, 2011) – Tommy Lee Jones has closed a deal to star in GREAT HOPE SPRINGS, to be directed by David Frankel. The comedy also stars Meryl Streep and Steve Carell. Sony Pictures holds North American distribution rights to the film which will be released in the 4th quarter of 2012. The screenplay by Vanessa Taylor and featured on the prestigious Black List, follows a middle-aged couple who after thirty years of marriage attend an intense counseling weekend to examine the intimacy issues that are threatening their marriage.
