At this point, Vin Diesel can have his pick of any movie project, just coming hot off the $458 million success of “Fast Five”. But Vin Diesel isn’t quite getting into “Furious Six” just yet but now he will take the lead role in “The Machine” for MGM. Diesel will also be producing this movie.

“The Machine” is an original project written by “The State” duo, Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (“Night at The Museum”). The pair have worked with Vin Diesel in the past on the 2005 Disney family comedy, “The Pacifier”. So it looks like Vin Diesel will be taking a break from action movies.

According to The Hollywood Reporter and MGM, Diesel will play “a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon to be the world’s first ultimate weapon. Some 20 years after the machine was decommissioned and buried, The Machine is discovered, reactivated and befriended by a kid. When the government learns that The Machine is back in operation, the ultimate weapon’s mission becomes to protect the family that is harboring him.”

Hopefully this won’t add to the many missteps in Vin Diesel’s career.
