Detective Elliot Stabler is officially out of Law and Order’s thirteenth season!  Can you believe it?  After twelve years on the show, actor Chrstopher Meloni is calling it quits his spokesperson confirmed after swirling speculation across the web.

“It is true, twelve very happy years with the show. On to the next chapter.”

‘Law and Order: SVU’  has really taken a hit!  Not only is Meloni on his way out, leaving the brains behind the show to find a replacement, but actress Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson, is also stepping back from her long time role.  Hargitay stated that she would like  to spend more time with her family.  Jennifer Love Hewitt is said to be in consideration for the lead female role on the popular NBC series that has been showing up weekly in TV land since 1999.

And on top of Meloni’s exit from the series (over a rumored pay raise dispute), the longtime executive producer and show runner Neal Baer behind the crime drama is also slated to leave the show behind as well.  Some serious changes are taking place!  How will fans take to this dramatic and surprising news that could possibly throw a wrench in the network’s much watched series?  You tell us!
