News has been released today that The Indomina Group, Universal Pictures and Pinewood Studios Group have made a pact together to finance and distribute the film “A Fantastic Fear of Everything,” starring Simon Pegg.

According to the press release, the film, which is currently being shot at London’s Shepperton Studios, will be released in U.S. through through Indomina Releasing, Indomina’s North American distribution division. Universal Pictures will release the film in the UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America. Indomina’s international sales division will handle sales for all other territories and Indomina is also providing financing for the production. The film is also the first to receive backing from Pinewood Films, a new finance initiative for small budget indie films by the Pinewood Studios Group.

“A Fantastic Fear of Everything” is written by and directed by Crispian Mills, a musician-turned-filmmaker marking his feature debut. Mills is also partnered with co-director and animator Chris Hopewell as part of a collaboration with Collision Films (Radiohead’s There There and The Killers’ Smile Like You Mean It). The producer of the film is Geraldine Patten.

The synopsis of the film, according to the release, involves a crime novelist whose research makes him extremely paranoid:

In the film, Jack (Simon Pegg) is a children’s author turned crime novelist whose detailed research into the lives of Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck, persecuted by the irrational fear of being murdered. When Jack is thrown a life-line by his long-suffering agent and a mysterious Hollywood executive takes a sudden and inexplicable interest in his script, what should be his ‘big break’ rapidly turns into his ‘big breakdown’, as Jack is forced to confront his worst demons; among them his love life, his laundry and the origin of all fear.
