Well, it would appear the time has come, sadly, to say goodbye to an institution in television, “All My Children.”

Friday was the airing of the final episode, and I find it really hard to believe that a show that was a big part of my childhood is now off the air forever. Thanks a lot, ABC. Even though the show will have another life online–Cameron Mathison and Lindsay Hartley have agreed to join a new production of “All My Children” to be made by Prospect Park, an upstart media company, ABC just won’t be the same without the show. As much as I love Clinton Kelly and Mario Batali, “The Chew” just won’t have the same power as “AMC” had in its daytime slot.

Various outlets on the internet are discussing the final episode and their feelings of sorrow about the show. TVLine posted a photo gallery of the “AMC” stars in finale photos as well as the video from “The View”‘s tribute to the show, which can be viewed below the post.

The Daily Beast provided a small recap of the final episode via E!News, stating the show ended with many unanswered questions–particularly about the final fate of Erica Kane. This should leave fans salivating to know what happened to their beloved bad girl. It’s both comforting and irritating, seeing how fans may never know.

How do you feel about the ending of an era? Sound off below.
