Talk about shocking! Paramount Studios is breaking protocol and putting the movie premiere decisions in the movie fans’ hands! In what is being called an unprecedented move, the studio will debut “Paranormal Activity 3” in the cities where the most fans “Tweet To See It First”.

The “Tweet To See It First” campaign was launched today, September 28, at 8 a.m. PDT and is open to fans around the world. The fans can go to and select their city from a global map, which also serves as the point of entry to create a tweet with a special set of hashtags linked to Twitter. Once the tweet is posted, it counts as a vote toward the city to premiere the movie. A leader board will show the top 20 global markets in real-time. The contest will end at 11:59 PDT Thursday, October 13, and the winning 20 cities will be announced Friday, October 14. The film will premiere in those cities October 18, three days before the film’s worldwide release.
