“American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery is known for his ridiculously-deep voice, but now he’ll also be known as having the Superman-like ability to reflect the affects of helium.

AOL’s The Boot reported on McCreery’s interview with Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” After asking McCreery about his life post-Idol–which includes being in school, going to football games, the effects of puberty on his voice and his debut album, “Clear As Day,” coming in at number one on his birthday–DeGeneres got a helium balloon to see how McCreery’s voice sounds when it’s at a normal teenage level. The result: not much change, which was astounding to everyone in attendance, including DeGeneres. “It doesn’t even affect your voice!” she said before McCreery made fun of his slightly higher voice by singing a part of “The Lollipop Guild” section of “The Wizard of Oz” song “The Munchin Land Song.”

McCreery’s album, “Clear As Day,” is out now in stores. Write what you think about McCreery’s iron-clad voice in the comments section below.
