The buzz is slowly growing around the new film “Young Adult,” starring Charlize Theron and written by “Juno” writer Diablo Cody. I think one of the draws of this film will be who will be the bigger star in the film–Theron, or Cody, since this film marks her return to film writing since “Jennifer’s Body,” starring Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried (before and after the film, Cody has taken to television writing, with “The United States of Tara” and “Children’s Hospital” being among her resume). The trailer for the film is below the post. You can learn more about the film at YoungAdultMovie.com as at the film’s official Facebook page and Twitter.

Here’s the synopsis to “Young Adult”:

“”Academy Award winner Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn’t quite gotten over high school, either.

“Young Adult” reunites Jason Reitman, Academy Award© nominated director of “Juno,” and Academy Award© winning screenwriter, Diablo Cody.”

The film, which also stars J.K. Simmons, Collette Wolfe and Hettienne Park, will be released sometime in December. After viewing the trailer for “Young Adult,” write your opinions about the trailer in the comments section below, as well as if you think this film is Cody’s big return to writing for the big screen.
