If you happened to watch “Dancing With the Stars” live Monday, you probably would have seen the intense blow-up “Dancing” pro and fan-favorite Maksim Chmerkovskiy had with judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

Chmerkovskiy got annoyed with the judges when they heavily criticized the dancing of his partner, soccer star Hope Solo. His anger was particularly directed at Goodman, who said Solo led too many times with heels. He also said that while he hasn’t lost hope in her, this dance–a rumba to “Seasons of Love” from the Broadway musical “Rent”–was her worst dance this season.

After Goodman said that most of the problem was Chrmkovskiy’s fault–who said during their rehearsal that the judges had lost faith in her–Chmerkovskiy said he, in so many words, that he didn’t disagree with the judges’ ruling and that he was trying to protect his partner from what the judges were telling her.

What Chmerkovskiy said to Brooke Burke Charvet is most telling. “With all due respect, the is my show. I help make it what it is. I love every professional that’s ever been here and I love every celebrity that puts effort into every week. Having said that, I’m a little tired that we’re being judged, some on effort and some being picked on, on heel leads.”

This is probably the third time this season we’ve had some sort of story about either the judges or audience votes, first from Chynna Phillips, next from recently nixed Carson Kressley, and now from Chmerkovskiy, who has already complained before about votes this season.

I get what Chmerkovskiy is trying to say here. What he’s getting at is that some people have been skating by while others have been getting the full-on critique treatment. If you’re watching the show, you know who I’m talking about. I think that’s what he’s fed up with the most. If everyone was getting the same treatment, it’d be much more fair than singling out some while giving a pat on the back to others.
