I’m sure even if you didn’t grow up when “The Munsters” originally aired, you probably have an idea of what the show consisted of–a family of Halloween monsters (and their “normal” niece) live together in an old home, facing the problems any family would have, with the added problem of people being afraid of them. If you loved the original just as it was and never wanted to see it changed or redone, well, I’m sorry to tell you that NBC is doing just that.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Peacock has ordered a pilot of an updated “Munsters.” The show is bring brought back to the screen by Bryan Fuller, the creator of the fan favorite (but still cancelled) “Pushing Daisies.” The series, which will consist of hour-long episodes instead of the 30-minute episodes the original show consisted of, will show how the inhabitants came to live in the house and will be less campy than the original.

Will that be bad or good? Who’s to say. The show is one of the shows that could be good as a remake, so who knows if the show will be successful. From an artistic standpoint, though, it’ll be fun to see how the makeup and costuming will turn out.
