More casting news has come down the pike when it comes to Twilight author Stephenie Meyer’s coming sci-fi adaption The Host. The latest, as confirmed by The Guardian, is that Inglorious Basterds actress Diane Kruger may be taking on the role of the Seeker. Kruger, who is best known for her work in National Treasure and Unknown, has apparently beat out several other actresses such as Homeland’s Claire Danes and Eva Green.

According to Variety, Kruger isn’t the only new addition to The Host line-up. The Andrew Niccol’s directed flick has also nabbed actors Chandler Canterbury of Knowing and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, as well as Boyd Holbrook of The Big C fame. Canterbury will be been brought on to play Jamie Stryder, while Holbrook has signed on to play Kyle O’Shea. Although the casting of the trio isn’t complete, negotiations are currently said to be in the final stages. The Host is expected to be released into theaters on March 29th 2013.
