Movie release strategies have become quite experimental in the past few years, what with the popularity of the internet, declining rates in theater-goers, and new advances in technology in general. The advent of renting movies on Facebook has also changed the movie-renting experience as well, making it even more convenient to rent and watch films.

It was only a matter of time before there would be a film that would be released on Facebook, theaters, and Video on Demand all on the same day, and that time has finally come. Freestyle Digital Media, an innovator in the US theatrical and independent film digital distribution business and Milyoni, the leader in social entertainment, have announced that film “Tomorrow, When the War Began,” will be released theatrical, Facebook and Video on Demand simultaneously Feb. 24. The film, which is the number one box office film in Australia, will make history as the first movie to be made available on all distribution platforms on the same day. This event goes to show how powerful Facebook is as a major provider for content.

According to the release, Facebook’s 800 million+ users can watch the film as well as share their movie experience with their friends using Milyoni’s Social Cinema technology. Users can also share their favorite clips, chat about the film, and view exclusive content. To learn more about the film and Facebook’s involvement, go to www.facebook.com/twtwb.usa.
