Throughout the weekend, people have been speculating as to when Stephen Colbert will come back to television after suspending “The Colbert Report” episodes. The Hollywood Reporter has given us the answer: “The Colbert Report” will be back on Monday night.

According to the Reporter, representative from the show has said that the show will go back into production. Production of the show was unexpectedly suspended Wednesday night, and fans that were waiting outside were encouraged via email to re-apply for future tapings of the show. According to Comedy Central, the official reason for the show going dark was due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Reportedly, Colbert’s mother had taken ill, resulting in Colbert cancelling the show’s production.

After the sudden cancellation along with the news about Colbert’s mother, fans immediately sent their condolences and hopeful messages. Due to the outpouring, Colbert said to his fans via Twitter, “My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers. We are grateful and touched by your concern.”
