There are now 24 days until the release of “The Hunger Games,” and to celebrate the milestone, Lionsgate has announced that NOOK by Barnes and Noble are bringing “Hunger Games” fans 24 Advance Screenings!

Fans of the film series can show their support for #HungerGames24 by visiting Screenings.TheHungerGamesMovie.com and tweeting a unique hashtag assigned to their closest city. This hashtag will unlock Advance Screening locations. Starting March 1, the top four cities with the most Twitter volume will be announced each day and fans will be able to enter to win tickets to those particular locations.

Also, Barnes and Noble will give NOOK fans in select cities the chance to get exclusive access to see the film before its official release. On March 10, while supplies last, the first customers to buy any of the bookstore’s NOOK devices, which include NOOK Tablet, NOOK Color or NOOK Simple Touch, at select Barnes and Noble locations will receive two tickets to the official Advance Screening, which will take place March 21. Check to see if your bookstore will be participating at www.nook.com/hungergames.
Here’s the official synopsis of “The Hunger Games”:

“Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.”
