For the longest, people have been stressing how they believe that Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” series should be nominated for the Academy Awards and, in some arguments, should win noms like Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor (such as the late Heath Ledger, who portrayed the Joker).

MTV has decided that they would take some of the arguments to heart and have devised an article that breaks down which nominations “The Dark Knight Rises” could be eligible for.

Some of the nominations are actually really plausible, such as Hans Zimmer getting a nomination for his work on the film (personally, I think he’s been Oscar-snubbed for long time). One nom that would be terrific is Best Picture. Do I think that could happen? I would love for it to, but remember how “The Dark Knight” was snubbed? I fear that the Academy will do that again, since they obviously have something against action/blockbuster films, even smart action films like the “Batman” series.

You can read more about the nomination speculation at MTV. Which nominations do you think “The Dark Knight Rises” will get? And how do you think the Academy will recognize the film, if at all? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
