“Bel Ami” is directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod with the adapted screenplay by Rachel Bennette. The film, based on the novel by Guy de Maupassant, stars Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci and Colm Meaney.

The film’s official synopsis is simple and to the point: the film is “[a] chronicle of a young man’s rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city’s most influential and wealthy women.”

I’m all about costume dramas, so I’m excited to see this in the movie theaters. Sometimes, there is nothing better than intrigue and corsets.
