The change of seasons calls for a genre switch on your iTunes playlist AKA your iPhone/iPod playlist AKA your Spotify playlist. Whichever form of technology you prefer to use is up to you, but as the months move from winter to summer, your playlists become inundated with the happiness brought on by the increase in temperature. For example, you would probably listen to Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box” in the brooding winter months, but transition to the Beatles’ “Dear Prudence” in the sunny ones.

Let’s update that comparison a bit. You can turn off “You” by The Pretty Reckless and welcome the April days properly by listening to “Life Happens” by the acoustic pop duo, Brandon & Leah. The single, which is now available on iTunes, is off of the group’s self-produced debut album due later this year.

MTV Buzzworthy Blog premiered the official video for “Life Happens” in March. Filmed in the mountains and beaches of southern California, the music video heightens the already light-hearted and enjoyable nature of “Life Happens”. Brandon & Leah have that Colbie Caillat meets reggae feel. The pair’s “bouncy” instrumentals are coupled with a strong pronunciation of the tune’s words, establishing a song that reels a listener in to decipher its uplifting message.
