ShockYa has got the exclusive scoop on a “Catching Fire” casting news bulletin!

We were emailed directly with the information that Victor Gojcaj (“The Taking of Pelham 123,” “Unstoppable”) is currently in negotiations to star in “Catching Fire” as Brutus!

Gojcaj doesn’t have the role outright just yet–he’s competing with Kevin Durand for the role in the film. Kevin Nash, a former WWF fighter, was also considered for the role.

For those who are not aware of Brutus, he is a character that has been described as a brutally physical person who happily volunteered for the 75th Hunger Games, citing his love for action.

The movie adaptation of “Catching Fire” will be directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. The film is expected to be in theaters November 23, 2013. Also attached to the film are Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The film will continue the horrific story of Katniss, a survivor of The Hunger Games and the burgeoning leader of a revolution against the Capitol. She is then forced to participate in the Quarter Quell edition of the Hunger Games in the hopes of ending the rising rebellion.

What do you think about this casting news? Do you hope Gojcaj nails the role? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
