Things seem to finally be working out for that “Kick-Ass” sequel, as at the end of May, word got out that Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse were all in negotiations to return. No word on the state of production since then, but according Lyndsy Fonseca who played Katie Deauxma in the original, the filmmakers want her to shoot “Kick-Ass 2” this year.

While talking “Nikita” and San Diego Comic Con, Fonseca drove my TV vs. film question straight into “Kick-Ass 2” territory. Fonseca is absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to make another “Kick-Ass,” but crossed her fingers and said, “I just pray that it all works out!” Fortunately the folks behind “Kick-Ass 2” are aware of her “Nikita” shooting schedule so Fonseca noted, “It’s not gonna be, you know, a month of work because I can’t do it, but I’ll be able to do at least something, which is very kind of them.”

After singing her co-stars’ praises, Fonseca confirmed she has seen what she believes is the latest version of the script and says the sequel’s story is “great.” She explained, “It actually plays really well with how Chloe has kind of grown up a little bit, but she’s not yet a young woman.” As for Katie’s presence in the film, unfortunately, Fonseca’s role won’t be much bigger than the first time around. “She’s just in the beginning, so far.” Fonseca added, “I’m just happy to be involved, but, you know, she’s still the strange Katie, somewhat girl next-door, but yet has strange drug addict boyfriends who works in the needle exchange.”

Fonseca also informed us that she’s got plans to meet with the director taking over for Matthew Vaughn, Jeff Wadlow, before shooting begins.

Hear about all of that and more straight from Fonseca herself in the video clip below and be sure to keep an eye out for our entire chat with Fonseca about what’s to come on “Nikita.”
