The critically-acclaimed look at the natural world in the documentary ‘Samsara’ will be released on Blu-ray and DVD by MPI Media Group on January 8, 2013. The film, which will be sold, respectively, for $34.98 and $27.98, will also be available on all digital platforms the same day from Freestyle Digital Media.

The unparalleled sensory experience was filmed over five years in 25 countries on five continents. ‘Samsara’ explores the wonders of the world from sacred grounds to industrial sites, looking into man’s spirituality and the human experience. ‘Samsara’ features images of unprecedented clarity after being shot entirely in 70mm and being transferred to 4K digital projection format. The film shows how human’s life cycle mirrors the rhythm of the planet.

‘Samsara’ was directed by Ron Fricke, who co-wrote the documentary with Mark Magidson. The two previously worked together on the critically acclaimed documentary ‘Chronos and Baraka.’ ‘Samsara’ premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and went on to a successful theatrical release in August.
