The upcoming award-winning horror thriller ‘American Mary,’ which was written and directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska, is drawing up scares in a new key art image. The film, which will be distributed on VOD on May 16, into theaters on May 31 and on DVD on June 18 by XLrator Media, stars Katharine Isabelle, Antonio Cupo and Tristan Risk.

‘American Mary’ won five trophies at this year’s Screamfest Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Isabelle. The Soska Sisters, who are also known for penning and helming the hit 2009 indie action horror mystery ‘Dead Hooker in a Trunk,’ also won Best Director for their latest film.

‘American Mary’ follows a medical student, Mary Mason (Isabelle), who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the world of underground surgeries, which leaves more marks on her than her so-called freakish clientele.
