The anticipated horror thriller sequel, ‘Insidious Chapter 2,’ which will continue the terrifying story of the Lambert family from the hit 2011 film ‘Insidious,’ has received a new theatrical release date. The follow-up, which reunites the first movie’s director, James Wan, with writer Leigh Whannell and cast members Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne Lin Shaye and Ty Simpkins, is now set to be released in theaters on Friday, September 13.
FilmDistrict, which will be releasing ‘Insidious Chapter 2,’ confirmed the sequel was pushed back from its initial release date of August 30. The movie began filming on January 15 in Los Angeles.
‘Insidious Chapter 2’ will feature the actors reprising their roles from the original film. The story follows the Lamberts, who are still haunted, as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them connected to the spirit world.
