July 25 is edging nearer and nearer, meaning we’re getting closer to the release of Paramount and MGM’s film, “Hercules.” The film, based on Radical Comics’ “Hercules” by Steve Moore, stars Dwayne Johnson as the mythical hero himself alongside Golden Globe Winner Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan and Academy Award®-nominee John Hurt.

The film will show Hercules going through the tremendous task of The 12 Labors, but with a revisionist slant. Also, since Hercules is played by none other than Johnson, whose previous incarnation was as wrestling hero The Rock, you can expect tons of action, including sword fighting, fists, and anything else that needs bulging muscles. What else would you expect from a film that is right smack dab in the middle of Popcorn Movie Season?

We’ve already seen some teasing glimpses of the film, but as I said, we’re getting closer to the release of the film, so the big guns are beginning to come out. One of those “big guns” is a brand new trailer! Take a look at the trailer below the post.

What do you think about “Hercules”? Are you excited to see what Johnson’s got in store for the character? Discuss the film in the comments section below.
