“The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water” is coming next February and if you were a fan of “The Spongebob Movie,” then you’re probably ready for the crazy and zany humor Spongebob and his friends always give their viewers. The film has been advertised as being a 3D film, but does that mean that Spongebob is also going to be 3D-animated?

As you can see on this new poster for the film, Spongebob is completely 3D instead of being 2D, the way we’re familiar with him. Spongebob was 2D-animated for the first “Spongebob” film, but for some reason, Paramount Pictures decided to give Spongebob a computerized makeover.

The poster looks fine, but as you know, humans are not wont to change and change-hating comes especially easy for big fans of a show or film. The questions that come to mind include, “Has Spongebob sold out to the 3D?” or “Will Spongebob still be funny?” But we’ll have to wait until February to see how being fully rendered will affect our favorite pineapple-living sponge.

“The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water” will feature Spongebob (Tom Kenny) and the rest of the cast from the Nickelodeon show–Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown), Squidward (Rodger Bumpass), Sandy (Carolyn Lawrence), Plankton (Mr. Lawrence) and Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke).
