The Stephen Hawking biopic “The Theory of Everything” is looking poised for Oscar greatness. The James Marsh film, starring Eddie Redmayne as Hawking and Felicity Jones as his wife, Jane, is not only making critics emotional. Hawking himself has seen the film and was extremely moved. Variety states that a nurse wiped away a tear from his cheek. He also blessed the film with these two words of approval; that the film was “broadly true.”

Before the film’s screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, Hawking was able to view the film for himself. Hawking not only loved the film, but was moved to tears. This news came out during a question and answer session after the screening, as well as news about how hard Redmayne worked to portray the famed theoretical physicist and cosmologist.

According to Variety, Redmayne stated that he spent six months researching Hawking’s life and preparing for the physical work it would take to properly portray Hawking, including talking with ALS patients and working with a choreographer.

With Hawking’s response to the film, are you going to check it out in theaters Nov. 7? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
