It’s been a long time since we heard about the slowly-simmering live-action film “Pan.” The film, directed by Joe Wright, has been around Hollywood for a while, but after the first teaser trailer was released, things seemed to have gone extremely quiet.

Now, we’ve finally received the official trailer for “Pan.” If you’re a fan of the classic “Peter Pan” story, this film might be something of a ride for you, since the film plans on embellishing on the histories of these characters, staring with Peter is a normal human boy. But, if you like reinvention, this might be right for you. Take a look at the trailer below and write your opinions in the comments section!

“Pan” stars Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Adeel Akhtar, Levi Miller, Taejoo Na, Nonso Anozie, Kathy Burke, Kurt Egyiawan, Lewis MacDougall, Leni Zieglmeier, Jack Charles and Amanda Seyfried.

“Peter (Levi Miller) is a mischievous 12-year-old boy with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life those qualities do not exactly fly. Then one incredible night, Peter is whisked away from the orphanage and spirited off to a fantastical world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland. There, he finds amazing adventures and fights life-or-death battles while trying to uncover the secret of his mother, who left him at the orphanage so long ago, and his rightful place in this magical land. Teamed with the warrior Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara) and a new friend named James Hook (Garrett Hedlund), Peter must defeat the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) to save Neverland and discover his true destiny—to become the hero who will forever be known as Peter Pan.”

The Warner Bros. film (in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment), will be in theaters in 3D and 2D Oct. 9.
