The first official look of Tom Hanks starring as an ordinary man who’s placed in extraordinary circumstances in the upcoming thriller, ‘Bridge of Spies,’ has been released by DreamWorks Pictures and Fox 2000 Pictures. The drama’s production companies have released the film’s new trailer and poster, which feature the Academy Award-winning actor.

‘Bridge of Spies’ is set to be released in the U.S. theaters by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on October 16, 2015. Besides Hanks, the drama also stars Mark Rylance, Scott Shepherd, Amy Ryan, Sebastian Koch and Alan Alda. The thriller was directed by Steven Spielberg, who previously directed Hanks in the films ‘Saving Private Ryan,’ ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and ‘The Terminal,’ as well as the miniseries ‘Band of Brother.’ Spielberg also served as a producer on the drama with Marc Platt and Kristie Macosko Krieger.

A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, DreamWorks Pictures/Fox 2000 Pictures’ “Bridge of Spies” tells the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan’s life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life.
