Legendary Olympian athlete Jesse Owens is racing towards achieving recognition in not only the sport of track and field, but also in raising tolerance towards people of all ethnicities, in the first teaser trailer for the upcoming biographical film, ‘Race.’ Focus Features, which will distribute the sports drama in theaters on February 19, 2016, has unveiled the teaser clip before the official trailer debuts on Yahoo! Movies today at 1pm EST/10am PST.

The following synopsis for ‘Race,’ which was helmed by Emmy Award-winning director Stephen Hopkins, has been released by Focus Features:

Based on the incredible true story of Jesse Owens, the legendary athletic superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy. ‘Race’ is an enthralling film about courage, determination, tolerance, and friendship, and an inspiring drama about one man’s fight to become an Olympic legend.

‘Race’ was written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, and features Stephan James as Owens. The sports drama also stars Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, Carice van Houten, Shanice Banton and William Hurt.
