Sometimes it takes the experience of embarking on a spirited adventure, and encountering a diverse group of people, to truly realize and appreciate the simple beauty of life. That’s certainly the case with the protagonist in the new drama, ‘Dark Around the Stars,’ who only learns how to embrace his troubled soul after he embarks on an enlightening journey. In honor of that soulful realization, Shockya has an exclusive new clip from the film, which is titled ‘Train Chicken.’

In the new clip, actor Mark Kassen’s emotionally struggling lead character, Glen, picks up a hitchhiker on the highway. Glen asks his new passenger if he wants to go four wheeling on the rugged terrain alongside the road. When he’s then encouraged by his fellow traveler to amp up the adrenaline, the film’s protagonist ventures his SUV onto the nearby train track. Much to the other man’s growing terror, Glen drives closer to the oncoming train, as he ponders whether or not he should move the car at the last minute.

‘Dark Around the Stars’ follows Glen Sweet, a disturbed man who’s on a quest to die. After experiencing a difficult tragedy and loss, Glen succumbs to a haphazard and alcoholic lifestyle. In his grief, he decides to journey to New Mexico to find the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, from which he plans to take his life on his birthday. During this journey, Glen encounters a number of colorful characters who influence him in some way, and have a deep impact on his ultimate decision.

The drama, which was written by Jim Janosky and directed by Derrick Borte, was distributed on VOD today by Lleju Productions. In addition to Kassen, ‘Dark Around the Stars’ also stars Tom Bower, Kathryn Hahn, Illeana Douglas, Vinessa Shaw, Don McManus and Luke Grimes.
