Kill Giggles WORLD PREMIERE Trailer #1: Tommy dos Santos from Jaysen Buterin on Vimeo.

Kill Giggles

A still from the trailer for writer-director Jaysen P. Buterin’s horror thriller, ‘Kill Giggles.’

Interacting with clowns often leaves people felling happy and appreciative of the innocence in their lives. But actor Tommy dos Santos’s troubled antagonist in the upcoming horror movie, ‘Kill Giggles,’ has overcome that pure, virtuous feeling that most other people hold for the lively performers.

In honor of the actor’s character, Tommy dos Santos, descending into a need to rid society of all clowns, ShockYa is exclusively premiering the trailer for the thriller online. The debut comes after the video had its world premiere this weekend at the Wreak Havoc Horror Film Festival. The trailer’s launch at the North Carolina-based festival marked a homecoming for ‘Kill Giggles,’ as the drama was shot in the Greensboro area. Following the premiere’s premiere at the festival, Avail Films is set to distribute the feature early next year.

In addition to Williams, who’s a North Carolina local, the independent movie also stars fan favorite Scream Queen Ellie Church (‘High on the Hog,’ ‘Harvest Lake’) as Eden di Prima, the brave woman who may just save Tommy from himself. The supporting cast also includes Ellie Church, Patrick G. Keenan and Nereida Velazquez, and features appearances from such cinematic icons as Felissa Rose, Vernon Wells and Judith O’Dea. ‘Kill Giggles’ was written and director by Jaysen P. Buterin.

The thriller’s script was inspired by Buterin’s own coulrophobia (extreme fear of clowns). The filmmaker wanted to change the classic horror trope of killer clowns; instead of having a clown murder innocent victims, the scribe-helmer instead decided to tell a story about a serial killer who targets the performers. The change in story allowed Buterin to making a movie where he could face and conquer his fear that dehumanizes clowns into terrifying monsters.

The following synopsis has been released for ‘Kill Giggles’:

Tommy dos Santos wasn’t born a psychopath, nor was he made into a sociopath. He’s something entirely new, and he’s walking his own path—a path that will run red with the blood of the foulest, most fiendishly frightening creatures ever conceived by man…clowns! No longer the maniacs and monsters that nightmares are made of, now it’s the clowns who are the victims, running for their lives from a killer who won’t stop until every single one of them is dead.
